Precision Rifle 1

This course is for those looking to get past the standard short-range engagements and make distance your advantage. Students will be introduced to precision rifle concepts and how to maximize your weapon system. You will learn how to read the conditions and deliver precision fire on a target as well make corrections. Target engagement will be from 200 yards to 1,000+ yards, depending on the student’s specific caliber.

  • Shoot out to distance

  • Wind Reading and Corrections

 

  • Rifle and components of a cartridge

  • Scopes & Reticles

  • Fundamentals of Marksmanship

  • Rifle to Body Alignment

  • Basic External Ballistics

  • Calibers

Equipment list -

  • Positive attitude

  • Rifle - .223 or larger

  • At least one rifle magazine

  • Scope with minimum 8x magnification. At least 20x is optimal.

  • Bipod

  • Rear bag

  • Ballistic solver - app or handheld

  • Ammo - at least 200 rds.

  • Eye protection, wrap around

  • Ear protection, muff style are recommended

  • Water & Lunch

  • Sunblock/insect repellent as needed

  • Rain gear as needed

  • Notebook/pen

  • Cleaning kit with lube

OPTIONAL:

  • Spotting Scope

  • Laser Range Finder

  • Tripod
